Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has described how he improvised their tactics in order to help his team secure a victory over Bayern Munich.
Arsenal beat the German champions 2-0 thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil in their Champions League match on Tuesday night but Wenger told reporters that it was not his initial plan to let Bayern dominate the possession and hit them on the counter.
Wenger said: "It was not deliberate from the start but I thought when we played very high up we stopped them from playing.
"When we were playing halfway they opened us up too much so I decided to drop Ozil a bit deeper and to make it tight around the box and catch them on the break, because we have the pace to do it and to find some space with the game going on.
Having lost their opening two matches in the competition the victory over Bayern could prove vital in helping Arsenal get out of the group stages.
