Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger feels vindicated in choosing youth over experience this campaign. The French tactician can point to a possible fourth place finish and involvement in the Champions League quarter-finals and the FA Cup semi-finals as vindication for putting his faith in youngsters this season.
However, Wenger was prepared for the backlash if his confidence had been misplaced.
"I knew when I decided to go for a young team what would hit me," Wenger told the club's official website.
"I was prepared for that. I am pleased that I was not wrong but we have a long way to go and a lot to improve."
