Wenger may rest Arsenal captain Van Persie for Blackburn clash

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to risk leaving Robin van Persie out of his squad against Blackburn Rovers.

The Gunners chief is becoming increasingly concerned by the amount of games Van Persie, 28, is being forced to play, says The Sun.

Should the 21-goal Dutchman line up for the home clash with Rovers, it would the striker's third match in seven days.

Van Persie has started 22 of Arsenal's 23 league games in a rare injury-free season.

Wenger is terrified he is pushing his star man to the limit but does not have many attacking options to choose from.
