Wenger lauds Cazorla, Coquelin as Arsenal down Man City

Arsene Wenger was delighted with the performance of two of his Arsenal players in particular after Sunday's win over Manchester City.

The Gunners got the better of the reigning champions with a 2-0 result at the Etihad Stadium which was crafted by the guile of goalscorer and assist-maker Santi Cazorla and defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin.

Cazorla opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 24th minute before crossing for Olivier Giroud's 67th-minute header while Coquelin was making his fourth start since returning from a loan spell with Charlton Athletic.

Of Cazorla, Wenger told the club's official website: "He's fantastic because he gets you out of pressure and finds space to create chances.

"He's a great example to young players because he's both footed and always wants the ball. He loves the game."

And of Coquelin, who has had to be patient at the Emirates Stadium, the French manager added: "He's 24 and has gone through some difficult experiences but he's learnt from them. He's done very well."
