Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists there's no panic over reports that Liverpool are close to landing Marouane Chamakh.

The Bordeaux striker is in Bosman talks with Liverpool and could sign a pre-contract within days.

But Wenger told arsenal.com: "Chamakh is still available for the summer.

"We have not met his agent and not spoken about it.

"He is a player we have an interest in, but we are focused on short term at the moment."
