Arsene Wenger has moved quickly to deny claims that Arsenal are on the verge of signing Loic Remy.
The French striker, who has scored 14 Premier League goals for Newcastle on loan from QPR, was seen in the stands at the Gunners' 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates on Sunday.
His presence has increased speculation that Arsenal are looking to lure him to north London this summer but Wenger was quick to rubbish those rumours.
"Honestly, I've just been informed that Loic Remy was here - I didn't know," Wenger said after Olivier Giroud scored the only goal of the contest.
"I don't see any sign of us signing Loic Remy. I hope he's paid for his ticket!
"I have not invited him."
Remy is due back at QPR at the end of the season but is unlikely to remain at Loftus Road as plenty of clubs circle for his signature.
