Wenger defends Arsenal players celebrating Gervinho goal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger defended his players over their celebrations for Gervinho's goal in victory at Swansea City.

Gunners keeper Lukasz Fabianski's most visible contribution was to run half the length of the pitch to celebrate Gervinho's late goal.

That did not impress Swansea and especially Michu, who confronted the Pole at the time and at the final whistle.

But Fabianski's joy reflected the relief of winning and of a much-criticised player making a positive contribution.

Wenger said: "It was special for Gervinho because I know he was under a lot of negative pressure because he missed chances and because I know how big that win was for us."
