Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits regrets over allowing striker Jay Bothroyd to leave the club.

Bothroyd is now with Cardiff City and will face the Gunners in today's FA Cup clash.

"He was one of the biggest talents we had here as a striker," Wenger told arsenal.com. "He left here on a misunderstanding at the time.

"I think he always had that confidence and the little bit of arrogance as a striker that they have sometimes. But he had always a massive talent.

"We are not surprised that when they become a little bit more settled, that talent comes out."
