Wenger asks Arsenal fans for more time

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has asked fans for more time to get things right.

There is increasing anger among Gooners at the failure to win any silverware since 2005's FA Cup and Wenger is asking for a little more patience as he struggles to get things right.

He said: "We will see where we stand at the end of the season.

"We have just qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League. People who have spent a lot of money have not done that. So we have to trust the team and stand behind the players because they deserve it. They will deliver.

"Let's not go overboard. We have 24 games to play and are in all the competitions, what many clubs would love to be. It is down to us to turn the season around. I believe we have the quality to do it.

"The league doesn't stop after 15 games. You count the points at the end of the season."
