Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that Marouane Chamakh is highly unlikely to leave Bordeaux in the January transfer window. The Frenchman would prefer to land someone who is not cup-tied in Europe, while he expects Bordeaux to keep Chamakh even though he is coming towards the end of his contract.
"Chamakh is in the Champions League with Bordeaux and at the top of their league, so he will not move now," said Wenger.
"He has four months [of his deal] to go with Bordeaux and they have no interest in selling him."
However, he maintains that he has no specific targets in mind at present.
"For now I am like I was when I was a student and I had to study for an exam, and I do not know what I will write," he quipped.
