Wembley shortlisted for Champions League final hosting

Wembley has been short listed to host the 2010 and 2011 Champions League final.

Uefa are making plans for the next two years of their flagship competition and the home of English football has made it onto a shortlist of five.

Wembley will face competition from two German grounds and two Spanish stadiums.

London and Dublin are battling to host the Uefa Cup in 2010 and 2011, as Arsenal's Emirates Stadium and the yet to be redeveloped Lansdowne Road figure on a six-strong shortlist.

The Arena Aufschalke in Gelsenkirchen, the Arena Hamburg, the Montjuic in Barcelona and the National Stadium in Bucharest are also in the running to host the Uefa Cup final.

Site visits are set to take place in October and November, with a final decision to be made by Uefa's executive committee at its meeting on March 27 and 28 next year.
