Wellington's Greenacre set for return

Wellington Phoenix striker Chris Greenacre is on the verge of a return to action after being sidelined since November with a knee injury.

The Englishman was in solid form prior to his injury and in a boost for the club is in the travelling party for the double header against Perth Glory on Friday and Melbourne Victory on Tuesday.

Greenacre's return will provide coach Ricki Herbert with further attacking options after the signing of Eugene Dadi from the Glory has proven to be a masterstroke with the Ivorian netting three goals in his two Phoenix appearances thus far.

"Yeah I mean that's a good option for us, I mean it's something we considered when we brought Eugene to the club, so I think if we get that opportunity in the game to try that, then we would," Herbert said.

"Chris was terrific for us and unfortunately he's been sidelined, but we're going to need his strength as the season progresses, and I would think he'll probably feature in the next two games."
