Wellington Phoenix will hand trials to two potential European targets before making a decision on Roy Krishna and Luis Corrales. The duo have been on an extended trial with the Phoenix but will have to wait to learn their fate.
Phoenix chief executive Tony Pignata says the club is keen to cast an eye over two European strikers, one of which is a former Lithuania international.
"We've seen what [Corrales and Krishna] can do, now it's a matter of seeing what these two Europeans can do," Pignata said.
"If they perform, and the money is right, then we'll see.
"The thinking is now whether we go for three top strikers," Pignata added.
"We're probably heading that way, if they settle in, and we can fit them inside the salary cap."
Pignata added that Krishna and Corrales had been great and their future would be revealed soon enough.
"Hopefully they've enjoyed the experience of seeing what professional football is all about, and we'll see what the future holds."
