Former St. Johnstone striker Daniel McBreen has been trialling with New Zealand A-League club Wellington Phoenix.

It has been reported recently that the Phoenix were keen to sign Hartlepool's Joel Porter, but the fact that might not happen has seen them look elsewhere.

31-year old McBreen has been plying his trade in Europe since 2002 and may be looking for a fresh start closer to home.

Although he was born in England, he was raised in Australia and is a product of the Newcastle Jets football club.
