Wellington Phoenix star Brockie enthusiastic ahead of Toronto debut

Jeremy Brockie says he is eagerly anticipating his first professional outing outside of the A-League.

The 25-year old Wellington Phoenix striker has landed in Ontario for his short-term loan spell with Toronto FC and could make his MLS debut in Saturday's home meeting with Columbus Crew.

New Zealand international Brockie, who was second on the A-League scoring charts with 16 for the 2012/13 season, is excited about a new experience which will be his first at club level outside Australia and NZ.

"I'm a little bit jet-lagged," Brockie told MLSsoccer.com on Tuesday.

"I had a little bit of a run out this morning and I'll have a good sleep this afternoon or tonight and I'll be ready to go tomorrow. I'm available Saturday if called upon. I'm very excited. It will be my first professional game outside of the A-League, so I'm looking forward to that.

"(TFC head coach Ryan Nelsen) pretty much gave me a phone call and asked if I wanted to swap a Wellington winter for a Toronto summer and come and score him some goals. It probably took me about 10 minutes to convince my wife and then I rang him back and told him I was keen to come."
