Wellington Phoenix's Ifill in doubt for North Queensland Fury

Wellington Phoenix's star striker Paul Ifill is in some doubt for tomorrow's A-League clash with North Queensland Fury.

The English-born Barbadian international is struggling with a groin injury and may be rested for the Week 8 clash at Westpac Stadium.

Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert said the former Millwall man would be treated with caution ahead of the game with the hope of playing him in the vital home fixture.

"We're resting Paul today. I think you're finding the intensity of the league is going to be tough and we've had to back up three pretty big games in a short period of time, so I don't want to risk anybody,'' Herbert said.

"It's not ideal to (rest him of Friday), it wouldn't be my preference, so we'll give him time."
