Wellington Phoenix to host Adelaide at Auckland's Eden Park

Wellington Phoenix will play their first A-League home game of the campaign at Auckland's Eden Park on Saturday, November 19, were their opponents will be Adelaide. CEO Nathan Greenham said: "The Phoenix has become a national property and we are delighted that we have been able to work with Eden Park to bring an A-League game to the country's biggest city.

"Eden Park is an outstanding stadium with magnificent facilities and the Phoenix is honoured that we will be playing in one of New Zealand's pre-eminent sporting facilities."

Greenham said it is a chance for fans and sports lovers in Auckland to show their support for professional football.

"Everyone knows that professional football started here in Auckland. This is a chance for the fans in Auckland to really show their support and get in behind professional football in New Zealand."

Adding football to the mix at the redeveloped stadium is being welcomed by Eden Park CEO David Kennedy.

"We're excited about the Wellington Phoenix coming to Eden Park. The Phoenix have established a brand that attracts support from all over and we are delighted that the Phoenix will play an A-League match here at Eden Park," Kennedy said.
