Wellington coach Herbert allays Paston injury fears

Wellington Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert has allayed any serious injury fears regarding goalkeeper Mark Paston.

The New Zealand international limped out of Phoenix training yesterday after receiving a heavy knock to his thigh but Herbert says it is not a serious injury and he will be right for the trip to Brisbane this weekend.

"I think he's just got a bit of a corked thigh. He just clashed with one of the players," explained Herbert. "We'll wait until Sunday but I think he will be okay."

The fact Paston was a huge part of Wellington's five clean sheets in their past eight matches may make it a tough task against the Roar if he does not get up but Herbert was confident the team as a whole were now doing their job to get positive results.

"It's come together nicely at both ends now," Herbert said. "I think the whole group of players have really picked up the responsibility.

"For the (back four) to walk off the park without conceding a goal is important for them because we have got players now that can win games for us.

"There is enough hunger. The players are playing very well at the moment so there's no reason why we can't go and win."
