Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck was delighted for teammate Matty James after his scoring debut for Preston North End last night.
Both players are on-loan at Deepdale and James struck in their win over Sheffield United.
Welbeck told Preston's website: "I have played with him since I was 12. He is a quality player, you can give him the ball in any situation and he will get out of it most of the time. He's got great feet, he's confident on the ball and because I have played with him since I was 12 and we still play together now we both know each other's game.
"He knows how to find me and when he turns I know where to run and he knows where I am going. Hopefully we will be playing well together. I spoke to him about the club and I told him that it is a great club to come to, it's got great fans and I told him that he would enjoy himself here.
"I think that goal will boost his confidence, he looked comfortable throughout the whole game so I am really happy for him. I set him up for one so he has got to set me up now, I am just waiting for him to return to the favour."
