Welbeck to be Man Utd success by emulating Wilshere with loan move

Danny Welbeck wants to follow the path of Arsenal's Jack Wilshere who used a successful loan spell with Bolton to return to a first team berth at the Emirates. The 20 year old would like to emulate Wilshere by similarly going out on loan and returning a better player to Old Trafford.

Welbeck impressed during a season-long loan at Sunderland last term, where he garnered six goals from 21 Premier League starts until injuries disrupted his progress.

"Jack Wilshere is a prime example of how things work," he said.

"He went to Bolton and did really well, and then he went back to Arsenal and really kicked on.

"It is something quite a few of the young boys look at and think if he can do it, so can we."

The Manchester-born striker is currently on United's pre-season tour of America.

"My time at Sunderland has benefited me massively," he added.

"It was a different part of my career. I went there as a boy and came back as a man. I am really happy with the way things went.

"But I am always looking to improve. It would mean the world to me to make it at United. It is the biggest club in the world.

"I am always going to strive for it and I would be delighted to achieve that here."
