Weir urges Rangers to battle through sticky spell

The Gers crashed to a 1-0 defeat to Hibs at Ibrox and are now three points behind leaders Celtic in third place.

Weir said: "Playing Champions League matches in midweek can't be used as a reason for us failing to win our league games at the weekend.

"The Lyon game was on Tuesday and the Hibs game was on Saturday, so we can't use that as the reason. To be fair, I don't think anybody will.

"You could argue that it is harder for us to adjust to the Champions League games. But, so far, we have done well in that competition.

"There is no difference between European games and domestic games. The guys have played plenty of games in the Premier League. It is just another game of football.

"We are going through a sticky spot in the league, but if we have ambitions to win it then we have to win the vast majority of our games."
