Weimann intent on staying in Villa first team

Andreas Weimann says he is determined to stay in the Aston Villa starting line-up after impressing recently.

The 20-year old Austrian striker scored a brilliant curling goal in the 1-1 draw with Stoke City on Monday, adding to his goal against Fulham on March 10, and now he is hoping for more game time after two starts and eight substitute appearances this season.

"When you're on the pitch, you have to try and stay in the team," Weimann told Villa's official website.

"I'll try every time I'm out there, I'll do my best and show the manager what I can do. We'll see if I get another chance.

"Now I have the taste for it I want to get a few more games, but it's up to the gaffer.

"The Fulham goal was a tap-in really but against Stoke I also showed that I could hit a ball so I'm really happy. I've scored a few but that was definitely up there."
