Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Madine's behaviour following his midweek red card against Carlisle is to be investigated by the FA. An FA spokeswoman told the News & Star: "Our current position is that we are investigating the matter."

Following his second yellow card in the 82nd minute, Madine appeared to motion with his head towards Lancashire referee Paul Tierney and made comments towards home fans on his way to the dressing room.

Madine was later involved in a heated exchange with a supporter on Twitter, writing: "[sic] useless fans! Needed the man in black 2 get u the win. Enjoy mid table peace out." The striker's Twitter account was later deleted.
