Wednesday boss Megson frustrated by transfer market

Boss Gary Megson has had five players turn down loan moves to League OneSheffield Wednesday this week. The Owls boss has begun the search for a new midfielder after Ben Marshall returned to Stoke City after completing his six-month loan at Hillsborough.

Megson told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I've tried for five players since Ben's loan finished on Monday, all on loan and been turned down by everyone.

"It's harder to get players in January than during the summer window."

Marshall's return to Stoke has left the Owls with a void in midfield.

"To make 22 starts for Wednesday, score five goals, make 12 and be arguably our best player it's going to be a big loss for anybody."
