Barcelona president Sandro Rosell says his club would not pay over the odds for Tottenham ace Gareth Bale.
The Wales international has been attracting interest from the Catalan giants this week after it emerged that chief scout Albert Valentine watched him against Fulham on November 6.
Rosell has now spoken out about the Bale curiosity but indicated that it is highly unlikely he would be landing at the Nou Camp anytime soon.
"I do not know if Bale interests us," he told Al Jazeera.
"If I did, I would not say, because his price would go up, [Tottenham] would not ask for 40million, but 50m.
"In any case, even if we wanted him, we would never pay 40m (£35m) for him."
