We won the double but beating Barcelona is as good as it gets - Celtic's Lennon

Celtic manager Neil Lennon led the club to a domestic double this season culminating in Sunday's Scottish Cup triumph over Hibernian.

The Hoops also took out the Scottish Premier League with apparent ease but it was their performances in the prestigious Champions League competition which impressed Lennon the most.

During their run in Europe, Celtic beat Russian club Spartak Moscow both home and away, were beaten by an injury-time goal by Barcelona at the Nou Camp and drew 0-0 with Benfica before succumbing to Italian champion Juventus in the Round of 16.

Despite those results, and of course the domestic glory, Lennon preferred to reflect on the 2-1 triumph over Barca at Parkhead.

"I think getting to the last 16 and beating Barcelona along the way is as good as it gets," he said.

"Beating Moscow twice was a real highlight too.

"But I'll enjoy the moment now."

He added: "Everyone competed in the Champions League, all the top teams, and we did pretty well in that as well. So I want this team to get the credit it deserves."
