We will treat Lincoln Red Imps like they are Barcelona or Real Madrid - Celtic boss Rodgers

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that his side is prepared to face Gibraltar minnows Lincoln Red Imps in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier on Tuesday.

Rodgers said that his side won't leave any room for error and will treat the part-time side like they are in the same echelon as Spanish giants Barcelona or Real Madrid.

He said: "We will treat them as if we were playing Barcelona or Real Madrid.

"We will give them full respect and the same preparation whether it's a team from Gibraltar or anyone else.

"It doesn't matter if it's the Champions League or a big game in Scotland. We will always respect our opponent.

"The game is based on ourselves and we'll go in with a focus and on the front foot.

"We are going into this game with a good mentality because you can't come in slack and treat it as a pre-season friendly."
