Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas insists his side will be at the best level they can possibly be for Sunday's season opener at Stoke City.
The Blues will step out for the first time in a competitive match under the Portuguese coach when they travel to the Britannia Stadium and he says they will be in top form.
"We will be at the highest level we can be at Stoke, but we'd hope there will be higher levels still to come," Villas-Boas said.
"This first challenge is important. Stoke away, one of the magnificent teams of the Premier League.
"They finished in the bottom half last season but managed 10 wins at home, have a good empathy with their public in an emotional stadium, so it's a good challenge to have in our first game of the season."
