We showed great character in exciting Aberdeen fightback - Celtic's Lustig

Celtic defender Mikael Lustig praised the character and spirit of his teammates after completing a remarkable comeback against Aberdeen on Saturday.

The Scottish league leaders found themselves 3-1 down at Celtic Park on the hour-mark but rallied with three goals in the final 20 minutes to win 4-3 with Lustig remembering another similar fightback he has been involved in recently.

"I've actually been part of a more exciting comeback with Sweden, in a World Cup match against Germany," said Lustig.

"But if you are part of a top team then games like that only happen once or twice in a season. It's probably the best way to win in terms of the feeling you get, it was really fun at the end.

"But we shouldn't be losing three goals at Celtic Park, we know that. To be 3-1 behind to Aberdeen is embarrassing, but we were in a tough position and we showed character.

"We had lost our last two in the league and there's maybe been a spell of four or five when we haven't showed our best.

"In the league we have struggled a little bit but we have seven games left now, plus the Scottish Cup. We want to show our fans that we're a really good team and have the hunger.

"But the game showed there are teams in the SPL who play really good football."
