Sir Alex Ferguson insists that Manchester United did not make a mistake by appointing David Moyes as his successor.
Following 25 trophy-laden years at United under Ferguson, Moyes was appointed as the man to replace the legendary Scotsman upon his retirement in 2012 and the former Everton boss certainly had huge shoes to fill.
Unfortunately, Moyes was sacked only 9 months into his six year contract at the club after enduring a torrid spell at Old Trafford but despite his horror show, Ferguson has now stated that the club hierarchy made the right choice in appointing the current Real Sociedad boss as his replacement.
Speaking in a documentary called 'Secrets of Success', to be aired on the BBC this Sunday, Ferguson said: "We did the best under the circumstances we were in.
"We picked the right man.
"I don't think we made a mistake at all. I think we chose a good football man. Unfortunately it didn't work for David."
