Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has revealed that the club never made a move for Julio Cesar.
The Brazilian goalkeeper was being heavily linked with a return to Italy after QPR had been relegated from the Premier League but Prade admits La Viola never contacted the former Inter Milan man because he would have cost too much.
"We were never rejected by Julio Cesar because we never contacted Julio Cesar," Prade told La Nazione.
"For two reasons - Julio Cesar has not played a real match since last April and then he has a very high salary, too high for us."
