We keeping fighting until season’s end - Arsenal defender Monreal

Arsenal full-back Nacho Monreal has highlighted the importance of putting up a strong fight until the end of the season.

The Gunners kept pace with the Premier League's top four by defeating reigning champions Leicester City 1-0 last night.

Monreal's deflected 78th-minute shot gave Arsenal all three points which has them within four of four-placed Manchester City as the race for a Champions League spot heats up.

"We had many chances to score but we missed and we knew that it was going to be a difficult game," he told Arsenal Player.

"They are playing much better than before, they are a strong team again. But finally we scored a goal, we got the three points, and that is the most important thing.

"We had to be patient, we trust in the quality of our players and we knew that at any moment we could score a goal. We scored when there were only five minutes until the end of the game, but we were really happy for the three points.

"I don't know if it was my goal, or an own goal, but I don't mind! The most important thing is we won, we got the three points and we have to keep fighting until the end of the season."
