Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech says the players believed in their ability ahead of last night's cut-throat Champions League clash with Valencia.
The Blues required a win or a scoreless draw to progress to the Round of 16 and came up with the goods in the form of a 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.
Cech, who produced some enormous saves during the encounter, says that he and his teammates were well up for the clash knowing what was on the line.
"Nobody was thinking that a club as big as Chelsea with such a high-quality squad should miss out. It would have been a sensation," he told the club's official website.
"We believed in our skills and the team worked as one man. In the end we are top of the group which was our initial aim."
