Tottenham Hotspur are confident of beating Southampton to the signing of Toby Alderweireld.

After impressing during his loan spell with Southampton last season, defender Alderweireld is being chased by a host of clubs this summer.

Unsurprisingly, the Saints are interested in turning Alderweireld's loan deal into a permanent one while Chelsea and Spurs have also expressed their interest in signing the Belgian international.

Now according to the London Evening Standard, it has been claimed that Tottenham are confident of landing the services of Alderweireld due to the fact that the defender 'favours' a move to White Hart Lane.
