Newcastle United full-back Jose Enrique said it was great to get a draw with Chelsea just a week after losing 5-1 at Bolton.
The Magpies were without their usual central defensive pairing of Mike Williamson and Fabricio Coloccini but Sol Campbell and Steven Taylor stepped in to do a superb job at the back, which was praised by a jubilant Enrique.
"The two centre-backs played their first game and they played really well,” the Spaniard said.
"Chelsea are a really good team, we played really well in defence. I think we deserved a draw today and we are really happy with that.
"We had to drop back, it's normal against this team. If not, we lose maybe 6-1."
