WC2018: Ronaldo helps Euro2016 champs Portugal to another six

Portugal turned on the style for the second straight match as they beat Faroe Islands 6-0 in World Cup qualifying.

The Euro2016 winners backed up their 6-0 home win over Andorra on Friday by dominating in Torshavn to move to second on the Group B table.

Porto youngster Andre Silva helped himself to his first senior international hat-trick, scoring in the 12th, 22nd and 37th minutes in a dazzling first-half performance for the 20-year-old.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored four against Andorra, added a fourth for his country on 65 minutes before Joao Moutinho and Joao Cancelo got in on the act in injury-time to send it to 6-0.

The result has Fernando Santos' side sitting three points behind Switzerland, who defeated them in the opening game, ahead of the November meeting with Latvia in the Algarve.
