Poland held a two-goal lead before Kazakhstan forced a 2-2 draw in World Cup qualifying on Sunday.
Adam Nawalka's side has skipped away to a commanding 2-0 lead by the 35th minute following goals from Bartosz Kapustka and Robert Lewandowski but the home side fought back in Astana through a second-half Sergei Khizhnichenko double.
Leicester City's teenage summer signing Kapustka gave Poland the ascendency in just the 9th minute when he knocked home a low cross from Jakub Blaszczykowski.
Bayern Munich ace Robert Lewandowski was felled in the area before picking himself up to slot home expertly from the penalty spot for this 36th international goal.
Khizhnichenko was able to beat Swansea City's Lukasz Fabianski on both the 51st and 58th minutes to give Kazakhstan a genuine chance but the Group E opener ended 2-2 with a point to both sides.
