Former Crystal Palace midfielder Ben Watson hopes Wigan fans do not compare him with former favourite Wilson Palacios.

Watson arrived at the JJB just as Palacios was moving to Tottenham and the midfielder said: "I'm a different player to Wilson. I just want to go out there and give it my best shot, week in, week out.

"I feel like I have got lots to offer. It's down to me to show the manager what I can do and win the shirt."
