Watson overjoyed to grab Watford chance after 18 months out

Watford midfielder Ben Watson is delighted at getting himself on the pitch once again following a difficult period.

After spending a lot of time on the bench this season, Watson has started in two games in a row over the past week and the 32-year-old has now stated that he is happy to be involved in first team activities once again.

He said: "It's always great playing. It has been a tough time for myself, over the last 18 months. It sounds strange because I haven't played a lot, but I'm enjoying being part of the football club at the moment.

"Coming back in pre-season I've enjoyed everything about this year. Haven't played as much as I'd like to have played but it's difficult when the boys have done so well.

"It's about being patient and just continuing to work hard in training and eventually knew I'd get a chance. It's just everything. The manager and his staff and the other staff at the training ground, the boys too. It's a good group."
