Watson has no regrets over swapping Wigan for West Brom

Ben Watson has revealed that a chance to play regular football at West Brom was behind his decision to leave Wigan on loan until the end of the season. The 24-year-old Wigan midfielder spent three months on loan at QPR earlier in the season before being restricted to just two substitute appearances on his return to Latics.

"I'm delighted to have signed and I can't wait to get started," Watson told Albion's official website. "I've played 20 minutes in six weeks and at this time in my career I want to be playing week in, week out."

"It was a no brainer once I knew West Brom wanted to take me. I was eager to get it done and thankfully Wigan have given me the chance to go and get some football." ,p> Watson, who could make his debut against Derby this weekend, added: "The Championship is a tough league. Everyone beats everyone and the team that is most consistent is probably the team that gets promoted.

"I've played almost 200 league games and hopefully I can give the club an extra little kick. The aim is to get promotion this season."
