Nigeria defender Azubuike Egwuekwe is being watched by Watford.
The London Evening Standard says Egwuekwe has caught the eye of English clubs with his performances at international level and he would be available for the remainder of the season after Nigeria failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The 25-year-old has been compared with his compatriot Joseph Yobo, who played for Everton, Fenerbahce and Norwich during a solid career in Europe and, at 6ft 5ins, he is an imposing presence at the back.
Egwuekwe will be available to sign in January from his club Warri Wolves and Watford are one of a number of English clubs understood to be considering making a move - especially as there is no chance he will play in the Nations Cup.
