Olympique Lyon defender Mouctar Diakhaby is a target for Watford.
Valencia had a €15m offer for Diakhaby rejected by OL last week and Le 10 Sport says Watford have now come forward.
Los Che will not go higher, so leaving the Hornets a clear run at signing the defender.
Watford are now in talks with OL for Diakhaby and prepared to outbid Valencia.
The 21 year-old is a France U21 international, having spent his entire career with OL.
