Watford striker Jerome Sinclair denies Sheffield Utd transfer claims

Watford striker Jerome Sinclair has denied claims he pushed to join Sheffield United on deadline day.

Sinclair has hit back at a behind-the-scenes deadline day video that claims he was left hanging at Sheffield train station because his agent doubled the fee at the final moment.

Blades boss Chris Wilder, who also missed out on two other players on deadline day, said: “It was worse than I ever expected. I know agents want to get the best deals, I know clubs want to get the best deals, but there has to be a better way of dealing with the crazy situation that has happened today."

However, Sinclair has responded to the video, which has been viewed over 20,000 times and retweeted nearly 10,000 times.

He said: “This footage is one-sided and very misleading. I was approached, but nothing was agreed.

“I am very happy at Watford and am looking forward to the season. Don't believe everything you read or watch!"
