Watford have signed American goalkeeper Ian Joyce on a non-professional contract basis after he impressed during a trial at Vicarage Road.

The 22-year-old appeared for the Hornets' reserves in last week's 3-2 defeat at Southampton and manager Adrian Boothroyd was impressed enough to retain his services.

Joyce will provide back-up for Estonia number one Mart Poom and Richard Lee and had also had a trial at Millwall since arriving in the country.
