Watford recruit Femenia should look to emulate Arsenal's Bellerin

Spanish football expert Kieran Canning believes that new Watford signing Kiko Femenia should look to emulate Arsenal star Hector Bellerin in England.

Watford recently completed the signing of Kiko Femenia from Deportivo Alaves on a free transfer and signing the exciting full-back for nothing has been seen by many as a huge coup for the Hornets.

AFP journalist Kieran Canning is a keen admirer of Femenia's abilities and believes that the 26-year-old should look to emulate Arsenal star Hector Bellerin in England, with whom he shares a similar playing style.

Canning said: "There's no doubt about how well he has done with Alaves. He was very highly thought of as a youngster but it never really worked out until this year, when he has really started making a decent career of himself again.

"He's not quite as fast as someone like Hector Bellerin, but he's only an inch shorter than him and that's probably the best example of the kind of player he should look to follow.

"Kiko might not have made it at Barcelona but there are other players who have gone on from their youth teams to have great careers, and it definitely will have made him a stronger player."
