Watford News: Silva warned not to quit job; Silva insists no player has asked him about future

Former Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has warned Marco Silva about quitting Watford.

Silva is understood to be keen to speak with Everton about their manager's job.

But Pardew says: "It's difficult, as a manager you want to progress. They're [Everton] a big club, he might want the option just to talk to them, so it's slightly frustrating for Silva. If there wasn't any interest he would have come out and said it.

"There's a little bit of pressure on, but the club have made it very very clear [their standpoint] this week.

"He could resign but that's probably the last thing the club will want and the last thing he will want. I went through that with Reading and West Ham and I would not do that again!"

Meanwhile, Silva insists his situation hasn't unsettled his players.

Silva was delighted with the manner of their victory over West Ham on Sunday.

Silva said: "No one has asked me about the situation in the dressing room. We talk every day, every day they feel the same about our work. There has not been any difference. For me, it's the same.

"They don't see a difference, and they don't need to ask anything. We talk about everything, and they talk more with my assistants than me sometimes.

"I know the players work, and they know how I am, how committed I am, I have no doubts that they are behind me, although I understand some people outside may."
