Watford move for Benfica midfielder Andre Carrillo

Watford are eyeing Benfica midfielder Andre Carrillo.

The Watford Observer says various reports in the Portuguese media are stating Carrillo is close to a loan move to Watford.

The Peru international would represent somewhat of a coup for the Hornets, having plied his trade at the top level in Portugal, with Sporting Lisbon and more recently Benfica, since 2011.

Indications suggest Carrillo would join the Hornets on loan for the season, with potential to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.

Benfica are said to be asking €1million from Watford for the loan, which would see the 26-year-old reunite with former boss Marco Silva, who managed him at Sporting in 2014/15.
