Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes says a change of diet has helped extend his career.
Gomes is loving life back in England after turning down moves to Germany, Italy and Holland and wants to stay at the top.
Gomes, 35, told The Sun: “She likes to eat health food and I needed to follow that, put meat to the side and eat more healthily. I still do it now.
“I avoid more carbs than I had, now it is more fruits and more vegetables, green salads.
“I have to look after myself with my age. You are not the same as 21 or 22 when I could eat a lot and was never worried about my weight.
“Of course I love my barbeque and have it in the garden, but it is not every day. I need to be careful."
