Kiko Femenia is enjoying his football at Watford this season.
He didn't quite make the grade with Barcelona and Read Madrid – but Kiko Femenia reckons playing in the Premier League for Watford is reward for his hard work.
“It's been a privilege to play for two of the best academies in the world – I believe they helped me grow into what I am right now," he told the Hertfordshire Mercury. “As a footballer, I learned a lot.
“In my career I've had a lot of ups and downs, and like every player, you want a club to believe in you.
“My mentality has always been to give my best every day so I can fulfil my potential, but I see where I am right now – in the Premier League with Watford – as a prize for my effort."
Femenia also is delighted to be playing again with Gerard Deulofeu.
“It's amazing to see him again after being with him in the Barcelona academy," he added. “We all know the qualities he possesses and we all know he's a great player.
“It's a shame he got injured because we know he could do a lot for this club – he's one of the best players we have."
