Watford eyeing Austria defender Martin Hinteregger

Watford are eyeing Austria international Martin Hinteregger.

The left-footed central defender has played in both of Austria's games in Euro 2016 so far – and teamed up alongside Watford's Austrian centre half Sebastian Prodl to shut out Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal in their 0-0 draw last week.

Hinteregger has recently been on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach from his parent club Red Bull Salzburg.

It's believed Salzburg will allow the 23-year-old to leave for a figure in the region of £7.5m. Bundesliga team Hoffenheim are also interested in the player, says Sky Sports.
